SCM Bully The Bull M.B.R.A.C.C. Award
Combat Bullying. Build Leaders. Change Lives.
When it comes to heart, purpose, and community impact, Bully the Bull stands tall! The SCM Bully The Bull M.B.R.A.C.C. Award proudly carries his name, representing strength, leadership, and love in action through The Bully The Bull Foundation — empowering youth across Memphis and beyond.
A Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award recipient and recognized with an official Bully the Bull Day in Memphis, his mission to combat bullying, build leaders, and change lives continues to make a lasting difference. Through partnerships with the NFL for The My Cause, My Cleats!, Washington, D.C. communities, and the NFL Alumni Association, Bully the Bull’s influence proves that not everything legendary stays in the past — some legends are living right now.
For the first time ever, the SCM Awards proudly presents the M.B.R.A.C.C. Award (pronounced “Embrace”) — named in honor of Maurqavia Haney, whose courage inspired a national movement to stand up against bullying.
Maurqavia, aka Young Mbracc, was the heart behind The Bully the Bull Foundation, founded by her father Maurice Ballentine after her courageous battle with juvenile diabetes and the emotional toll of being bullied at school. What began as a father’s mission to help his daughter find strength became a citywide movement and later a national campaign, empowering youth to rise above cruelty through love, leadership, and resilience.
As both a songwriter and performer, Young Mbracc used her voice to spread hope and empowerment. Her legacy continues through the foundation’s work — inspiring young people to stand tall, speak out, and embrace their inner strength.
The M.B.R.A.C.C. Award — Maurqavia Ballentine Raising Awareness to Combat Cruelty — honors individuals and organizations dedicated to making the world a safer, kinder, and more inclusive place for youth. It represents her spirit, her strength, and her lasting message: turning pain into purpose, and purpose into power.
The SCM Awards is honored to partner with Bully the Bull, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that continues to change lives through education, mentorship, and anti-bullying awareness — collaborating with major partners including the Memphis Grizzlies, youth organizations in Washington D.C., and the NFL Alumni Association during Super Bowl Week.
Join us as we celebrate Young Mbracc’s legacy and this powerful new addition to the SCM Awards — where every award carries meaning, and every story makes a difference.
