Tribute to OG Bigga Rankin
On behalf of the Southern Coalition Movement, we'd like to honor the life and legacy of our brother, THE OG Bigga Rankin, and pay tribute to our friend.
It is so hard writing this, and I still can't believe he is gone. This brother was a light to all of us. Bigga was kind, funny, loving, humble, and genuine. He would give you the shirt off his back and was always willing to give back to the community and pour into artists, giving them "free game", whether in person, on mixtapes or on his social media pages.

Whenever we'd touch down in Atlanta, he was always there. He was always hospitable, always willing to be a part of whatever we had going on. His attitude was, "Let's get it." And if he had something going on in Atlanta, he'd call us, and our response was, "Let's do it." Bigga wasn't just a business associate or a partner—nah, he was family, and his family is our family, and vice versa. Bigga was my big brother. He meant so much to me and I just can describe the hurt I feel losing him. You will always be remembered and loved.

Me, myself, I told him he was going to host the SCM Awards for 15 years. He looked at me and said, "I may not live for 15 years, brother." I told him, "You don't know that... besides, you don't have a choice." Looking back on that conversation now is hard, but I can truly say he gave everything he had until the very end.
We'd like to thank Bigga Rankin for his unwavering commitment to SCM and for helping elevate the SCM Awards and our brand into a national—and now global—force to be reckoned with. What started as a vision has grown tremendously, and his belief in what we're building has been a big part of that journey.
We'd also like to thank his family for sharing him with us and for the many sacrifices they've made by allowing him to dedicate so much of his time to this vision. We don't take that for granted.
Words simply can't express how thankful we are for his support, his sacrifice, and the role he played in helping make this vision a reality.

There really is so much more we could say, but this could go on forever. So we'll close by simply saying: we love you, Bigga. Thank you for everything you've done for SCM, and for all of us who had the privilege of calling you our brother and friend.
